England looks like it will return to a regional tiered system following Lockdown 2.0 from the 2nd December 2020. However, even with higher restrictions in some areas it seems that the property sector will remain unimpacted.
On the 23rd November 2020 Boris Johnson told MPs that in some areas shops, gyms and some sport events will be able to resume, but there will be tougher rules on the hospitality sector such as for pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Propertymark, a UK regulatory body for letting agents, has requested further clarity from the government regarding tier regulated rules on estate and letting agents.
Although agencies have been allowed to remain open for business with appraisals, viewings, and buying/selling/renting through Lockdown 2.0, the shut down from Lockdown 1.0 has led to significant delays and many transactions failing through.
We will continue to follow the Covid safety guidance in all of our transactions, and although we anticipate we will continue to work as normally as we can, we will keep you updated on ongoing rules and guidance
